Job Summary
The Tuxedo Club is searching for a Line Cook that has a passion and dedication for the culinary arts to join our team!
Duties & Responsibilities
- Display a working knowledge of all ingredients & preparation used on the menu
- Consistently ensure that station mise en place is prepped, seasoned & stocked throughout service & the overall station remains clean and organized
- Effectively participates in a professionally run service period, ensuring excellence in cooking, timing, plate assembly and communication
- Promote teamwork & excellence amongst the kitchen team
- Demonstrate an eagerness to refine techniques and a desire to continually learn & grow
- Assist Chef in Completion of Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Service
- Preps station & replenishes with all of its components having a par stock
- Organize & consolidate prep, making notice of needs & notifying supervisor
- Assist in putting away of all orders properly
- Cleaning of station, kitchen, and all of its associated parts as directed by Chef
- Sanitation of station & kitchen to be held to serve safe standards
- Works various buffet stations as needed for specials events including :
- Grills, Sautee, breakfast & carving stations
- Has a positive work ethic & professional approach with coworkers & customers
- Have a basic knowledge of common ingredients & retain new knowledge of ingredients used in our cuisine & most specifically in mise en place items assigned to the prep list
- Checks in deliveries & ensures they are properly stored
- Lead by example, setting a tone of teamwork, collaboration & mutual respect
- Works with Executive Chef, Sous Chef & cooks to establish & maintain efficiency & consistency
- Supports the team in whatever capacity is necessary to ensure smooth service & operations
- Effectively prepares all required dishes in a timely manner for specific service period
- Consistently ensure that station mise en place is excellently prepped, seasoned, & prepared to the standards taught by restaurant's culinary leaders by the beginning of service
- Maintains a sound & inquisitive working knowledge of common seasonal ingredients & retains new knowledge of ingredients used in our cuisine
- Participates in a professionally run service period, restocking stations as needed & performing last minute or special-order prep needs with a calm sense of urgency
- Communicates effectively & hospitably with all teams throughout the day & throughout service
- Maintains an orderly & neat work area displaying calm professionalism to promote food quality & reduce waste
- Follows all recipes, portioning, proper storage & FIFO to minimize waste
- Ensure DOL / Health Department compliance as it pertains to the operation
- Is punctual for shifts & has proper uniform including apron, chef's jacket, pants, & hat

Qualifications
- 2 years experience in a professional kitchen setting
- Culinary Education preferred but not required
- Team player that is energetic, professional, has a positive attitude and strong attention to detail
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to work varied shifts which include weekdays, evenings, weekends & holidays

- May need to work in wet or humid conditions, near moving parts, near fumes or airborne particles, in extreme non-weather heat, & in extreme non-weather cold
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, use hands & fingers, reach with hands & arms, talk & / or hear
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, & depth perception
- Employees must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs multiple times per day, & push a cart weighing up to 100lbs
- Expect to be on their feet for up to 6 hours at a time
- Must practice proper body mechanics & use appropriate personal protective equipment to avoid injury
