Position Summary
The University of Denver is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Club Swim Coach to lead and develop our club swim team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of coaching experience in competitive swimming and possess strong leadership and organizational skills. The coach must be available to work evenings, weekends and travel with the team to swim meets. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with the Colorado Timing System and using Team/Meet Manager software.
This is a part-time, non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.
Essential Functions
- Plan, organize, and conduct practice sessions to improve swimmers' skills, techniques, and overall team performance.
- Develop and implement effective training programs and meet strategies.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes, supporting their academic and athletic development.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
- Manage meet-day operations, including swimmer preparation, in-race adjustments, and post-race analysis.
- Coordinate travel arrangements and accompany the team to swim meets and competitions.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all team members during practices, meets, and travel.
- Communicate regularly with club officers and university staff regarding team activities, schedules, and administrative matters.
- Maintain compliance with University policies and guidelines related to club sports.

- Strong knowledge of swimming techniques, training methodologies, and competition rules

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of coaching experience in competitive swimming, preferably at the club or collegiate level
- Must possess a Swim Coaching Certification (i.e. USA Swimming, ASCA)
Preferred Qualifications
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Experience working with the Colorado Timing System and using Team Manager
Work Schedule
Part-time, must be able to work evenings, weekends and travel for swim meets and competitions.

Hourly Range
The hourly range for the position is $20.00-$30.00.
