  • Job Details:

    Purpose

    Senior level administrative support of the Shipping and Receiving Department of ARL.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the end-to-end logistics process including documentation, transportation, delivery, and freight billing
    • Coordinate carriers for time-critical/security-sensitive projects and resolve shipping exceptions/damage claims/invoices
    • Prepare and dispatch small parcel/large freight per UT, DoD and carrier requirements
    • Create and maintain accurate shipping documents in compliance with DOT standards and guidelines
    • Acquire and maintain certification to ship hazardous materials per 49CFR/IATA/IMDG regulations
    • Receive, inspect and deliver incoming material per ARL/UT procedures
    • Communicate daily with ADS staff, Facilities, Labs and offsite partners
    • Safely unload/load & deliver material with forklift
    • Anticipate requirements and assume responsibility as a “floater” for other duties as needed


    Required Qualifications

    • HS/GED
    • Seven or more years of administrative experience with five or more years of experience in shipping/receiving, logistics, supply management, or a similar role
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) carrier specific software and ERP/MRP programs
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to interact effectively with teams and customers
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member without daily supervision
    • Capable of working in an environment with rapidly changing priorities
    • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate


    US Citizen. Selected applicant is subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at level appropriate to project requirements of the position.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree
    • 7 or more years of experience in shipping/receiving, logistics, supply management, or a similar role
    • Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., CSCMP, CSCP, or similar) is a plus
    • 49CFR/IATA/IMDG Certified Dangerous Goods shipper
    • Forklift operator certification
    • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Suite, FileMaker, Adobe, Zoom, DocuSign, Point Plus, Define, Workday, SAP, IRIS, Agile PM, AES/ACE
    • Eligibility for immediate access to classified information

    Driving Required

    This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).

    Salary Range

    $48,000-$56,000 /negotiable depending on qualifications

    Employment Eligibility:

    Retirement Plan Eligibility:

    The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
