This 10 month per year teacher position is located at a residential treatment facility in Forney, TX. Salary will be spread over 12 months. Start date: 8/1/24. Required to attend new employee orientation in Austin on July 30th and July 31st. Travel will be reimbursed for new employee orientation and this is paid time. Will be required to obtain the English as a Second Language Supplemental within first 90 days of hire.

• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
• Effectively plan and use appropriate instructional interventions, strategies, activities, materials, and equipment to add educational value for each student. ESL, GT, at-risk, etc.
• Comply with UT-UCS curriculum standards and all relevant policies and procedures UT, UT-UCS, and campus. Implement each student's IEP and 504 accommodations as stated.
• Establish and maintain open communication with the principal, professional support personnel, teachers, facility staff, parents, and students.
• Manage student behavior effectively and in accordance with the treatment plan if applicable, the Student Code of Conduct and the student handbook.
• Conduct ongoing, formal, and informal assessment of student learning. Utilize data effectively to inform instruction.
• Participate in faculty meetings, committee meetings and staff development as require
