Librarian in Residence
Job Description
This position is part of the Adrian Alexander Librarian in Residence Program. This is a one-year appointment for 25 hours per week. This position is responsible for the coordination and management of the Federal Depository Library Program at McFarlin Library and reports to the Director of Bibliographic Services.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES:
- Completion of the Federal Depository Library Program Coordinator Certificate Program, if not already completed
- Revision and maintenance of the library’s print collection
- Oversee an extensive reconfiguration of the library’s FDLP holdings
- Collaborate with regional and national FDLP coordinators
- Insure compliance with all rules and regulations for participation in the Federal Depository Library Program
- Oversee the conversion of the collection of a digital format
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in Library Science or Library & Information Science from an American Library Association accredited program or within one year of completion of such a program.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with staff, faculty, students, community patrons, and other libraries
- Excellent organization and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in the Federal Depository Library Program, performing collection management, cataloging in the SuDoc classification scheme, and compliance
- Completion of the FDLP Coordinator Certificate Program
- Experience using Innovative Interfaces Sierra LSP and OCLC WorldShare Management Services LSP
