Job Posting for Assistant Bookkeeper at The Urgent Care
Locally owned company is looking for a bookkeeper to assist in managing the day-to-day accounting and finance requirements. Confidentiality, excellent organizational skills, and accuracy are important qualifications for this position. The candidate should be a skilled multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced environment, have excellent customer relations, and have the ability to communicate clearly.
Assistant Bookkeeper Duties and Responsibilities
Process invoices and daily transactions and expenses.
Evaluate worklist
Perform administrative support functions.
Update and maintain accounting database with data entry and reports.
Handle monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing, handle day-to-day accounting duties, including Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payable.
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
Review documentation and diagnostic results as appropriate to extract data and apply appropriate codes for billing, internal and external reporting, research, and regulatory compliance.
Prepare and submit billing data and medical claims to insurance companies.
Ensure information is accurate and up to date.
Prepare bills and invoices, and document amounts due to medical procedures and services.
Collect, review and monitor and record late payments.
Follow-up on missed payments and resolve financial discrepancies.
Examine bills for accuracy and request any missing information.
Investigate and appeal denied claims.
Maintain billing software by updating rate change, cash spreadsheets, and current collection reports.
Assistant Bookkeeper Skills and Qualifications
Friendly and outgoing personality
Ability to prioritize and multitask
Strong Analytical skills
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field of study is strongly preferred
Experience with Quickbooks preferred
Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel
Understanding of basic accounting principles
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail
