Responsible for preparing case carts for surgery, ordering, receiving and distribution of all supplies within primary and secondary storage areas needed for the ASC. The successful candidate will have experience in an ambulatory surgery center and/or operating room environment. Schedule: Mon - Fri 8:00am to 4:30pm ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the ordering, receiving and distribution of all supplies within primary and secondary storage areas needed for the ASC Responsible for inventory management and tracking as well as system maintenance including but not limited to; replacement/repair of barcodes, rotation of stock, use of LEAN principles in inventory management (2 bin, Kanban etc) Management of back ordered supplies in coordination with ASC staff to assure appropriate supplies are ready for case start including communication with buyer for substitution of items Evaluation and adjustment of appropriate PAR levels of supplies based on ASC need Process returns when necessary Tracking of tissue (grafts etc.) in accordance with regulatory guidelines to ensure adequate supply and appropriate handling Obtain/coordinate the procurement of specialty supplies (soft goods) with needed instrumentation Responsible for preparing all the soft goods for surgery cases at least two days prior to start Support ASC initiatives as developed by leadership SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Adapts to unpredictable situations within the perioperative setting. Proven ability to communicate with a variety of people in a direct, empathetic, and articulate manner. Demonstrated patient-centered and customer focused communication skills. Medical terminology and use of computer systems knowledge needed Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of organizational policies, procedures and systems Establishes and maintains vendor/rep relationships. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of one year of experience in the operating room environment, sterile processing, surgical tech, or hospital supply chain system. Inventory management experience strongly preferred, preferably in an ASC or Operating Room environment.
