Event Manager/Coordinator

We are looking for an experienced Event Manager with a background in social media marketing to join our growing production company. Our show 'The Velvet Underground Show' made its debut in Jacksonville in December 2023, and we are set to tour in May/June 2024, as well as grow our brand.

Our perfect candidate must have experience working in the wedding and events industry, knowledge of liaising with event venues and event staff, as well as experience and a keen interest in social media advertising. While this position is based in St. Augustine, some travel is involved for out-of-town shows (travel expenses paid).

Responsibilities will be assisting the creative directors with pre-event logistics as well as:

- Communicating with all vendors and suppliers before, during and after the event
- Provide excellent customer service
- Assist with event setup and breakdown, including arranging furniture and equipment
- Ensuring that events comply with insurance, health and safety standards
- Manage crowd control and assist with directing attendees
- Handle guest inquiries and provide accurate information about the event
- Assist with ticketing, registration, and check-in processes
- Handling problems that arise to help the event go off smoothly

- Creating schedules of all activities for staff to follow during events

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a management role in the wedding and event industry a must
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle conflicts or difficult situations with professionalism and tact
- Experience working in theater, entertainment or performing arts is a plus
- Comfortable speaking in public and addressing large groups of people
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Please note that this position may require standing for extended periods of time and lifting/moving heavy objects.

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
