Teacher Assistant
The Village Method (https://thevillagemethod.org) is a community-based grassroots organization with a mission dedicated to making youth unstoppable. Our goal is to operate as a conduit building capacity for social change and the advancement of Black youth, families, and community-based organizations working together to develop sustainable academic and cultural pipelines from elementary to college, from college to career, and back to their community. We do this by partnering with school districts, providing culturally responsive Youth Development, Family Engagement, and Community Outreach programming in the SF Bay Area.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Teacher Assistant will supervise children and make sure they learn and have fun, including assisting with daily activities and ensuring the safety and physical well-being of the children. The TA will be positive, upbeat, and have a genuine love for children.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work in a classroom with children from grades K-5
- Help to maintain a fun and interactive classroom that is clean and organized
- Develop relationships with coworkers and build lasting relationships with families
- Ensure children are supervised AT ALL TIMES
- Follow alongside your Lead Teacher in implementing daily routine and curriculum
REQUIREMENTS
- Childcare: 6 months -1 year (Preferred)
- Proven experience or similar role working with children
- Patient and reliable
- Organizational and communication skills
- A love for children
- Energetic and positive personality
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
- First aid- and CPR-certified preferred
- High school diploma

Candidates must be available Monday - Friday

Mondays 2:00 - 5:30 pm (Hayward)
Wednesdays 12:00 - 4:00 pm (Hayward)
Fridays 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Option #2:
Tuesdays 2:00 - 5:30 pm (Hayward)
Thursdays 2:00 - 5:30 pm (Hayward)
Fridays 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
