SUMMARY OF POSITION
In accordance with the mission and values of The Village of St. Edward, the Director of Dining Services is charged with the overall responsibility for the operation of the Dining Services Department. This position provides direction and supervision of the dietary services at the Wadsworth location; plans and establishes Dining Services policies and procedures affecting food production and food service campus wide; assists with staff development; performs other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A degree in Hospitality Management or Culinary Arts or at least 2 years of comparable work experience (i.e. strong cooking background with 2-3 years in a healthcare setting; Executive Chef experience in a health care setting).
CDM certification preferred
ServeSafe certified or within 3 months of obtaining position
3 years of supervisory experience, preferred in healthcare setting with food preparation and service in a healthcare setting
Must have thorough knowledge in dietary management, menu planning, diet therapy
Must have working knowledge of food service operation including use of equipment and food production
Knowledge in cost control, food management, personnel management
Demonstrates evidence of leadership abilities and interpersonal skills
Effective communication including verbal, written, and presentation to varied audiences
Ability to manage multiple priorities and timely outcomes
Must have valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance. Must be able to travel between locations (local).
Ability to be flexible due to potential of unknowns and rapidly shifting priorities
Specific knowledge of Word, Excel and email or the willingness to learn. Use a range of information technology applications to fulfill the requirements of the position, produce necessary reports accurately and timely, and/or improve the functionality of the department as a whole
