Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN); Job Summary Introduction

The Nursing team of The Vineyards | California Armenian Home creates unforgettable long-term care experiences for our diverse senior population. Here you can use your skills in our fast-paced environment, in areas that range from leadership roles, culinary experiences, to lifestyle programs, and everything in between. Available Shifts: August 2023

PM Shift Available; Start time: 2:00PM to 10:30PM

A minimum of (6) months experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility is preferred.

Job Description

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is responsible for the well-being and nursing care of all residents assigned to him or her during his or her shift. He or she provides nursing services following the patient’s treatment plan or physician’s directions, assesses patients and responds to and reports any changes in condition, distributes and charts medications, and responds to emergencies.

The ideal candidate has a current and unencumbered license as an LVN in this state, certification in CPR/AED/First Aid, and at least one year of nursing experience, preferably in a long term care setting or assisted living community. Candidates must have a genuine desire to help others, strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, and proficient computer skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
  • Degree from an accredited LVN program
  • Current state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications
  • At least one year of experience in a Long term care setting or assisted living community preferred
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
  • Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient computer and internet skills
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, which may include working days, evenings, weekends, and holidays


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicates with patients and families regarding treatment and care
  • Provides nursing care following established nursing service objectives and standards
  • Ensures that all safety and infection control practices are followed
  • Distributes and documents medications (including narcotics) according to established standards and regulations
  • Responds to emergency situations
  • Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
  • Attends all staff meetings, trainings, and educational classes as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned
