Position Summary
Typically, the Warehouse Operator position is an “entry level” job that requires limited knowledge and experience in HVAV/R parts, equipment and warehousing. The job incumbent in their initial 18 to 24 months is learning by doing and is frequently assigned to some, if not all of the various warehouse job functions. These job functions include, but are not limited to: receiving, order filling, stock replenishment, customer will call, and inventory cycle counts.

The following essential job functions are shared by several warehouse job classifications. Employees may be assigned to various job duties based on prior experience or operational needs. As employees demonstrate their knowledge and proficiency at these essential job functions their work classification may be changed based on their specific qualifications.
Internal Relationships
Warehouse, Logistics, Sales, Purchasing, and Branch Personnel
External Relationships
Customer, Vendor and Freight personnel
Final Decision Maker
Decision making limited to the scope and breadth of the incumbent’s individual responsibilities within the essential warehouse duties to be performed as outlined in the standard operating procedures. The Warehouse Operator should interface with Warehouse Operator II’s or Warehouse Supervision when situations arise that they are not familiar with in order to ensure accuracy of work performed.
Qualifications of Warehouse Operator
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform one or two essential duties satisfactorily, typically this will be order filling and stock replenishment. Essential duty assignments in a warehouse include: receiving, order filing, stock replenishment, Will Call and inventory cycle counting. The position of Warehouse Operator I is typically the “entry level” warehouse position where the employee learns warehousing operations and procedures, HVAC/R parts and equipment, WGI service orientation over the initial 18 to 24 months of service.
