JOB OVERVIEW
We are looking for an experienced Banquet Bartender to serve drinks to guests at special events. You should be able to make a variety of popular cocktails and must be familiar with different types of wine and beer. We specialize in larger events, so you must have experience handling a high volume of beverage sales.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Setting up the beverage service area and any portable bars
- Helping with setup and teardown of events
- Keeping a clean well-kept bar area throughout the event
- Appropriately stocking the bar with all necessary tools and glassware needed for the event
- Stocking and keeping an accurate inventory of all liquor, beer, wine, soda and mixers before, during and after the event
- Cutting and preparing garnishes for cocktails
- Stocking ice before and throughout the event
- Checking IDs and making sure they are valid
- Take orders from guests
- Manage tabs or voucher systems for payment
- Keeping an accurate tally of drinks sold
- Ringing in, taking payment, and making correct change for cash bars
- Making mixed cocktails, pouring beer and pouring wine for guests
- Have knowledge of Pelican Lakes alcohol tier system and what comes in each tier
- Recommend beer or wine selections to guests
- Not over-serving any guests and knowing when someone is no longer to be served
- Knowledge of safe ways home for guest who cannot drive
- Close out tabs at the end of the night
- Inventory and stocking at the end of the shift
- Breaking down and cleaning the bar area after the event
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Previous bartending experience
- Experience in high volume bartending
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
- TIPS certified
- Must have reliable transportation and be punctual to work
- Highly motivated with a positive attitude
- Knowledge of Point of Sales Systems
