Purpose of Role:
As a DevOps Engineer in the Intelligent Process Optimization team at Weir, you will embark on an exciting journey at the forefront of technology. Your expertise, combined with our team’s diverse experience in mining, IIoT, cloud technology, and software engineering, will have significant global impact.
In this role, you will design and manage our cloud-based infrastructure on Azure and Kubernetes, ensuring that our systems are secure, robust, and scalable. You will collaborate closely with Data Scientists and developers to drive continuous improvements to security, quality, and observability throughout the continuous delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
- Foster security and quality throughout the continuous delivery pipeline.
- Define and deploy application infrastructure on Azure and Kubernetes using IaC.
- Collaborate with developers and Data Scientists to promote DevOps and configuration management best practices.
- Continuously explore, evaluate, and share knowledge on emerging technology.
- Write scripts that interact with Azure, Kubernetes, GitHub, and other services to enable builds, deployments, and testing of software.
- Study and apply best practices from Azure and the Kubernetes community.
- Design and maintain application deployment interfaces used by developers and Data Science
- Drive compliance, application observability and DevOps KPI tracking through standardization and tool introduction.
- Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
- Experience working with common Azure services and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience in building CI&CD pipelines and introducing tools to improve security and code quality.
- Experience working in an agile team using tools like JIRA.
- Familiarity with application observability standards and tools (e.g. OTel, Grafana).
- Experience with Linux, Windows, and database administration and tools is considered a plus.
- Experience with IIoT protocols, network infrastructure and firewalls is considered a plus.
- Relevant cloud certifications is considered a plus.
- Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native technology is considered a plus.
