```Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for accurately processing payroll and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This is a crucial role within our organization, as payroll accuracy is essential for maintaining employee satisfaction and financial integrity.
Duties:
- Process payroll for employees using our designated payroll software (Quickbooks)
- Calculate and enter employee hours, wages, bonuses, and deductions
- Review and verify accuracy of payroll data before processing
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposits to employees
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters
- Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate employee data in the payroll system
- Generate reports on payroll expenses, taxes, and deductions
- Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies
- Assist with year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation
- Accounts Payable, management, filing and payment of vendor/supplier invoices.
- Raw material inventory allocations and reconciliations; periodic physical inventory counts will be required. Current raw materials being tracked is limited to less than a dozen items.
Skills:
- Strong proficiency in data entry and attention to detail
- Knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, and labor laws
- Experience using payroll software (e.g., UltiPro, Paychex)
- Familiarity with accounting software for journal entries and general ledger management
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve discrepancies
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to interact with employees regarding payroll matters
