The Assistant Location Manager will assist in the supervision of directing and managing grain and fertilizer operations which includes the supervision of all employees at the location, oversight of quality in receiving and all grain and fertilizer operations, inventory management, safety, driving production efficiencies, management of location costs and meeting customer quality expectations. To accomplish these responsibilities, they will effectively collaborate with quality, procurement, transportation and the financial areas of the Company. The assistant location manager is responsible for scheduling location activities, managing and scheduling staff, training new hires, address and monitor employee performance, discipline or terminate employees, managing the inventory of ingredients and supplies, preparing for and ensuring compliance with housekeeping audits, working with mechanics and operations in scheduling preventive maintenance and participating in safety and leadership meetings.

What will you do:
- Ensure adherence to Wenger policies, methods, and disciplines
- Daily customer interaction for both grain and agronomy customers.
- Answering phones and accepting customer orders for grain and agronomy.
- Computer data entry for orders, grain settlements, and agronomy deliveries.
- Understanding of and competency in all aspects of the Agris system
- Will provide support to location manager in talent management, grain/fertilizer operations, grain and inventory management, customer management:
Talent Management
- Assists the Location Manager in coordinating and scheduling the daily labor planning and utilization
Grain/Fertilizer Operations
- Assists with the Maintenance /Operations Team in the repair and maintenance of all equipment and coordinating repair and maintenance.
- Assists in helping to Manage overall cleanliness and appearance of the facility
- Responsibility for the adherence to all safety procedures and programs with Safety Compliance Coordinator.
- Responsible to comply with all environmental policies including relationships with vendor emergency cleanup needs working through the Facilities and Environmental Coordinator
- Keep up to date on all agronomy services and technology, including seed, Precision Farming technology, finance, and marketing tools.
Grain and Inventory Management
- Ensures the quality of grains from receipt through storage, including bin rotation and clean out.
- Ensure appropriate testing protocols are adhered to relative to grain receiving.
- Take ownership for overall location inventories in terms of accuracy of reporting and levels needed to sustain daily operations
- Responsible for providing support and knowledge of agronomic products to customers
- Facilitate positive long-term relationships with customers to create and promote long-term repeat business.
- Provide advice to farmers regarding crop rotation, pests, plant health, seed and fertilizer recommendations, crop husbandry, and more.
Customer Management
- Responsible for the quality of the outbound for both grain and fertilizer product
- Assist with product delivery
- Foster a working relationship with the end user customers
Administrative and Other
- Coordinate reporting and record-keeping functions with Location Manager.
- Perform other duties as determined by the Location Manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. repeatedly and up to 100 lbs. on occasion
- Ability to climb ladders and work in high places
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Ability to work in dusty conditions
Qualifications needed:
- Strong agronomic competencies
- Proficient math skills
- Strong computer skills, including MS Word and Excel
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Proficient oral and written communication skills

Position requirements
An associate or college degree (BA or BS in agriculture, manufacturing or relevant industry) preferred- Five (5) years of experience in a grain and fertilizer environment
- Three (3) years of supervision experience preferred
- Able to understand and contribute to all functions in a grain and fertilizer operation
- Knowledge of grain handling techniques, equipment, operations and maintenance

Salary : $66,200 - $83,800
