Accountant
Westervelt Ecological Services (WES) creates mitigation and conservation banks and
provides environmental mitigation and habitat planning services to landowners,
businesses, government agencies, and land trusts. Our established industry
leaders excel in the field of wetland and endangered species mitigation
services, to create a nationwide habitat mitigation company.
We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team in our Sacramento office. The Accountant will provide accounting and financial assistance to the Division Controller in support of The Westervelt Company's financial management and provide contract management services in support of WES's service contract and turnkey business opportunities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
-Prepare periodic reports relative to mitigation banking for use by Westervelt Ecological Services management, marketing, compliance, and other stakeholders (sales logs, available and total inventory based on credit release schedule, unit costing, etc.).
-Maintain a strong partnership and communication system with Corporate Finance and WES Management to manage meaningful and efficient project analysis, budget analysis, forecasting, cash flow, and accounting processes & reporting for the business.
-Assist in the preparation of analytical reports for project teams, updating and organizing pro forma and ROI analyses for potential projects that will help prioritize strategic investments in the decision making process and in presentations to the Investment Committee.
-Assist in the management of certain WES technology systems and office management (capital expenditures, lease/landlord, communications etc.).
-Assist with the financial aspects of service contracts through contract compliance, job cost tracking of time and materials, and billing and collections.
-Assist in the preparation of business analysis reports and presentations for Westervelt Ecological Services board and Westervelt management.
-Assist in the development, organization and maintenance of data base systems and source documents for Westervelt Ecological Services management, marketing, entitlement, and other stakeholders.
-Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred
- Five- seven years of related work experience
- Ability to relate accurate, detailed information in an easily understandable manner
- Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively with others
- Past work experience must demonstrate strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
The base salary range for this position is $75,500 - $113,300. Actual base salary is based on the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate.
