Summary:
The Site Safety Leadis responsible for leading, motivating and fostering a safety-conscious culture to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident free work environment. The Safety Lead demonstrates a commitment to driving the Company’s safety culture program by maintaining a visible presence on the production floor to ensure company policies, regulatory requirements and safe work practices are being followed consistently.
Primary Duties:
The Site Safety Leadis responsible for leading, motivating and fostering a safety-conscious culture to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident free work environment. The Safety Lead demonstrates a commitment to driving the Company’s safety culture program by maintaining a visible presence on the production floor to ensure company policies, regulatory requirements and safe work practices are being followed consistently.
Primary Duties:
- Function as the Site Safety Leader on designated shift, reporting safety data to Safety Supervisor
- Function as a permanent member of the Site Safety Committee
- Assist in the waste management activities / practices at the site
- Inspect waste containers as required to ensure compliance with regulatory expectations
- Perform waste management procedures as necessary
- Report waste recycling/disposal activities to Safety Supervisor
- Maintain personal training in Safety and Environmental activities.
- Drive and maintain continuous improvement in safety and waste disposal processes.
- Look for ways to implement and improve safety initiatives in cooperation with site managers and supervisors
- Interface with Production, Shipping, Inventory and Maintenance teams on matters involving safety
- Perform miscellaneous duties as requested by supervisor
- Participate in safety meetings
- Instruct staff in proper safety procedures in a respectful and productive manner
- Associates Degree (AA) preferred.
- Minimum of three years of applicable experience
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job
