The Williamsburg Hotel is an independent lifestyle boutique hotel located in the middle of the action and on the stoop of local hotspots, from entertainment to culture.
The Williamsburg Hotel is looking for a reliable and pro-active evening Housekeeping Manager to provide leadership and support to the evening operation of the Housekeeping Department. The Housekeeping Manager will monitor and inspect rooms daily, responsible for turn down service, assist in scheduling, training, and cleaning rooms when necessary.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Ensure that service and room quality standards are aligned with the hotel’s cleanliness standards
·Oversee staff on a daily basis
· Resolve any issues that occur on the job
· Respond to any guest complaints or special requests
· Inspect rooms daily and responsible for daily turndown service
· Assist the Director of Housekeeping in training and developing the evening housekeeping staff and creating a positive work environment
· Close the department and send out the required reports
· Assist in cleaning rooms and all public areas of the hotel and work in the laundry department when necessary
· Inspect maintenance rooms before being released for sale
· Control guest amenity inventory and minibar products
· Daily walkthroughs as needed and report any issues to maintenance or cleaning staff
· Monitor inventory of all housekeeping supplies to ensure the Housekeeping team has what they need to perform their assignments
· Must be willing to be hands on and able to multitask in a fast paced, dynamic environment
· Understand and implement the hotel’s recycling programs, and “green” cleaning initiatives
· Follow hotel and departmental policies and procedures
· Perform other job-related activities as required or assigned by the Director of Housekeeping or Hotel General Manager
Qualifications:
· A minimum of one-year experience as a Housekeeping Manager required, preferably in a New York City luxury boutique hotel
· Knowledge of Opera is preferred
· Great communication skills, professional demeanor and appearance
· Able to work in a team environment and welcome feedback and direction
· Capable of standing for prolonged periods of time
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
· Ability to reach, bend, stoop, climb up and down stairs, walk, and carry multiple objects
