Job Summary:
Woodfin-Your Home Team is seeking a knowledgeable Safety Trainer to join our team! The Safety Trainer is a highly visible position supporting multiple lines of business and ensuring employees are both aware of, and following, OSHA safety standards. The Safety Trainer will work with an overall goal of improving the companywide safety culture.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducts employee training, companywide, to educate employees on safety standards and expectations.
- Manages a LMS system for both in-person and on-line training and tracking.
- Manages, creates, and presents meaningful and exciting content for multiple audiences.
- Influences the workforce towards achieving an injury free culture of care.
- Conducts both scheduled and random jobsite observation visits and documents findings appropriately.
- Enforces policies and procedures.
- May administer Random/Post Accident/Reasonable Cause drug tests.
- Other projects assigned as necessary.
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
- Bachelors degree with a focus in Safety Management or Construction Management is preferred, but not required.
- A teaching background considered
- Fluent in Spanish a plus
- OSHA 500 certification a plus
- Certified Safety Professional designation is a plus.
Job Requirements:
- Demonstrated, prior teaching of safety training to all employee levels and learning styles within an organization.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and meeting facilitation abilities.
- Ability to navigate an LMS system and other safety tracking software and generate reports.
- Interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees and project managers.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines.
- Leadership skills, such as the ability to motivate team members and provide constructive feedback.
- Excellent driving record.
- Must be able to work irregular hours and be on call occasionally as situations arise (rare).
- Occasional overnight travel for learning seminars or visits to company operations in North Carolina.
- Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
