HireArt is helping the world’s largest social network hire a UX Researcher (Emerging Products) to partner directly with a single, tightly integrated pod, which has significant freedom to operate with the time, people, and space necessary for conceiving, building, and launching brand new products.
Research is paramount to this organization’s success. Formative research is needed to identify the right latent needs or problems in the world to tackle with product solutions. Iterative design research is needed to mold early product ideas into testable prototypes. And creative evaluative research is needed to improve and prepare those products for market.
In this role, you'll collaborate closely with researchers, designers, PMs, and engineers to identify, define, and deliver meaningful products into the world.
As a UX Researcher (Emerging Products), you’ll:
- Collaboratively and independently develop and execute research roadmaps.
- Lead various research studies throughout all the phases of the product development cycle.
- Contribute to product strategy, execution, and go-to-market plans.
- Manage research vendors to help augment the work of the research team.
- Have opportunities to do more in-depth projects, e.g. card sorting, survey work, diary studies.

- Bachelor's degree in a human behavior related field, such as human-computer interaction, psychology, sociology, communication, information science, media studies, computer science, or economics
- 2 years experience in a similar or relevant role
- Looking for a qualitative UX researcher with industry experience. No need for experience with hardware research.
- Supporting VR Engagement and Growth teams
- Software user research experience is a must have
- Industry experience working on software technologies
- Comfortable working with remote workforce
- Work will be primarily tactical, i.e. usability and concept testing
- Verbal and written communication, problem solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills
- Strong ability to work independently and manage your time
- Experience with data and utilizing numbers to define and support hypotheses
- Experience with storytelling to get traction with various audiences
- Experience with autonomy and decision making to balance demands
- Strong mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback
Commitment: This is a full-time 6-month contract position staffed via HireArt and based in Los Angeles, CA. It will be fully remote until offices reopen and is available to candidates local to the Los Angeles area.
