Job Summary:
Performs IT engineering, design, configuration, maintenance, and lifecycle management tasks for data center infrastructure with focus on compute, data storage and data backup solutions to meet ZEISS compliance and operational requirements.
Job Description:
Plan and deliver Data Center Infrastructure projects in support of ZEISS Business Groups and Corp IT.
Perform analysis of business problems to be solved for compute, data storage and data backup solutions.
Apply knowledge of business operations to implement, enhance or repair Data Center infrastructure
Respond and resolve second level support service requests and incident escalations that require Data Center infrastructure expertise.
Perform troubleshooting which may involve previous known and new yet unresolved issues, applying engineering thinking and problem-solving for Computer, Storage and Data Backup solutions
Manage, maintain, evaluate, test, debug and implement Data Center services in support of ZEISS functional areas including finance, manufacturing, materials, marketing, accounting, or human resources.
Form productive relationships with BG stakeholders by listening, clarifying and responding effectively to provide compute, storage data backup solutions to solve issues/problems.
Effectively probe users to determine the actual nature, or underlying cause, of a problem.
Form productive networks with other groups in Regional IT, Global IT and vendors to address organizational needs.
Explain data center procedures effectively to users and new team members.
Produce documentation of procedures and implemented data center infrastructure
Job Requirements:
3 - 5 years of professional experience in compute, data storage, data backup for multi-site organizations
Experience supporting server equipment, NetApp storage, VMware, Windows & Linux operating systems, anti-virus and data backup solutions.
Experience interacting with ServiceNow / ITSM / ITIL tools
Experience applying Agile/Scrum/DevOps project management disciplines
Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to coordinate multiple priorities; and good written and oral skills.
Ability to use professional concepts and apply Zeiss company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
Ability to exercise good judgment in selecting methods and techniques to determine appropriate action and obtain solutions.
Ability to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
