Summary : Reporting to the Vice President for Graduate Medical Education (GME) the Director of Graduate Education (DGME) works to provide development, leadership, oversight and administration of ThedaCare’s graduate medical education programs. The position works collaboratively and facilitates teamwork to ensure regulatory compliance for the Institution and its programs. The Director of GME is the knowledge leader on ACGME requirements for maintenance and continuation of accreditation. The position is charged with providing directors and managers of programs with educational strategies and methods designed to meet regulatory requirements for maintenance of accreditation. The Director of GME educates GME stakeholders regarding ACGME requirements and competencies. Job Description: KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Working closely and collaboratively with the faculty leaders and staff, the Director assists with the development and management of the cross-cutting strategic goals of ThedaCare GME as well as the administrative operations. The position works with the Vice President in developing institution-wide policies, standard operating procedures, training activities, and assessments, administers academic affiliations, proposes and manages budgets. The Director of GME responsibilities include leadership, administration, and oversight of intersecting and cross functional activities of GME that include: ACGME and accreditation activities Execute ThedaCare’s goals for graduate medical education to create new programs and sites. Assist the VP to improve ACGME programs that have warning or probation status to obtain and maintain continued accreditation. Professional development programs for all GME office and program staff Oversight of annual GME workflow activities and related data systems Oversight of all finance reporting, including IRIS data for CMS cost reporting Administrative oversight of other educational activities/programs that are assigned to or developed by Graduate Medical Education Ability to deal with complex issues with keen academic and administrative judgment and a high degree of discretion and diplomacy Ability to develop and supervise multiple staff at both the professional and support level. Experience with the ACGME Web ADS, NRMP and ERAS and Residency Management Software applications Must participate in continuous professional development. The ability to make the complex simple. A strong and active listener. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Administration or a related field. Preferred: Master’s Degree or higher in Administration or a related field EXPERIENCE Required: Two (2) years or more of experience in the development, organization, administration and delivery of educational programs in an academic or hospital setting with continually increasing responsibilities. Preferred: Three (3) years or more of professional experience in Graduate Medical Education in an academic or other institution, progressively responsible for accreditation, administration, and process improvement in medical education.
