ThemeWorks, Inc. is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team in High Springs, FL (Only 20-25 minutes outside of Gainesville!).

Our Work:
Since ThemeWorks was founded, we have sought out unique and challenging projects – from the world’s largest installation of a urethane rockwork system in a zoological facility to an interactive play structure inside of a forty-foot sculpture of a boy in a children’s museum. With each project, we’ve risen to and met the challenge through careful planning, creative solutions, and expert craftsmanship. While our projects are complex, challenging and demanding, they create a sense of accomplishment and pride for all on our team.
What we are looking for:
A highly organized, detail-oriented bookkeeper that maintains accurate financial records and enjoys working in a faced-paced, creative environment to keep our team informed with accurate and timely financial reporting.
Bookkeeper Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be organized, have keen attention to detail, and be accurate
- Must have strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Must be proficient in computer-based accounting systems, Sage preferred, but not required
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Must be familiar with general accounting principles
- Must be self-driven, demonstrate initiative and be able to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
- Must have ability to positively and proactively manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines and thrive in fast-pace, creative environment
Bookkeeper Job Functions
- Record transactions; prepare trial balances and simple financial statements
- Prepare sales tax returns and work papers accurately and efficiently
- Enters and maintains job costing data into the accounting and timekeeping system
- Maintain and display general understanding and knowledge of applicable tax laws and rules
- Enters payroll entries into accounting software.
- Completes monthly review of accounts for accuracy and prepares monthly financial statements and completes job closeout procedures.
- Compiles reports to show statistics such as cash receipts and expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, profit and loss, and other items pertinent to operation of business.
- Computes taxes owed and prepares tax returns and documents, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting or other tax requirements.
- Contacts customers in order to obtain or relay account information.
- Manages and organizes billing folders and keeps records of invoices and support documents.
Bookkeeper Qualifications
- College degree preferred, high school diploma or GED required
- 3-5 years previous bookkeeping experience preferred
