Application Engineer IV

We are hiring a Application Engineer IV to work in Laurel, MD. Position location is subject to change based on central MD client's needs.

Required: TS/SCI with a Polygraph

• Maintain and enhance existing applications and GUIs in the Connectivity offering
• Connectivity application monitors NSA backbone network (GUI component)
• NetFlow and Port Security dashboard adjudicates STE compliance for all agency network equipment (GUI component)
• SNMP GUI configures and tracks SNMP poller used for Port Security
• SNMP poller polls configuration and performance metrics for STE and Connectivity
• NetFlow collector collects and reports NetFlow
• Support activities for all the above tools and services

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• GUI track
• Maintain and enhance GUI frontend for Connectivity, NetFlow & Port Security dashboard, and the SNMP GUI
• Some backend support in Typescript to support new and enhanced features
• Application developer track
• Maintain poller, collectors, and data ingest functions using Java and Python
• Database management (MongoDB, Postgres or similar)

Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:

• High School 12 years minimum experience OR Associates degree in a technical field 10 years minimum experience OR Bachelor’s degree in a technical field 8 years minimum experience OR Master’s degree in a technical field 6 years minimum experience OR Doctorate’s degree in a technical field 4 years minimum experience
• Experience in Java
• Experience in Python
• Familiarity with networking COTS
• Windows Administration experience
• Advanced Linux Engineering/Architecture experience (how things work, how to change them, impacts of alterations, etc.)
• Intermediate networking experience (Protocols, routing, etc.)
• LDAP experience, especially in mixed Linus Windows environments. Must know how to integrate something into LDAP
• Experience in Splunk
• Extensive knowledge/background in ElasticSearch and NiFi
• Needs experience in the buildout and sustainment of ElasticSearch
• Experience in Full stack
• IAT Level 2 Certification

Individual Capabilities/Experience Desired:

• Typescript, angular 10 , and Java
• MongoDB, Kubernetes (Docker)
• Relational data bases (MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, Sybase, etc…)
