Summary/Objective
The Retail and Inventory Associate’s job varies during the year, as TRMF retail stores are largely seasonal. During the summer season the Associate is responsible for leading a team of employees in an assigned retail store location. The Generalist must create a positive work environment and propel their employees to work hard and deliver great customer service. Their store location must be kept clean, safe, and properly stocked at all times.
They will need to be able to easily engage with guests and promote store sales in addition to being experts on the happenings in Medora and promoting sales to shows, events, and activities around town.
The Retail and Inventory Associate will need to be competent in several software systems. They will frequently need to assist their staff by troubleshooting software issues and determining how to solve them.
Off-season work for the Associate includes assisting with physical inventories, moving inventory between store locations, unpacking, inspecting, and sorting freight, data input, pricing, merchandising, and training and supervising volunteers. They also will assist in staffing stores during off-season business hours.
The Retail and Inventory Associate must possess excellent oral communication skills, be detail oriented, be comfortable and proficient working with various software programs, enjoy and be able to easily interact with others, and have creative problem-solving abilities.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Supervise staff and volunteers
- Train incoming employees and volunteers
- Deliver excellent customer service
- Become familiar with products to promote sales
- Be highly competent and comfortable with computers
- Attend weekly departmental meetings and safety training
- Monitor inventory levels and report observations to Retail Managers
- Assist the Retail Managers with disseminating information to the retail staff
- Ensure that the store is kept clean and organized by dusting, vacuuming, mopping, washing windows and doors and straightening merchandise
- Promote Medora shows, events, and activities and provide accurate information
- Enforce procedures and policies with team and guests in difficult situations
- Actively communicate with Retail Managers to identify and solve problems as well as keep up to date on progress and needs
- Frequently move inventory between store locations
- Unpack, inspect, count, and sort freight

Work Environment
This position works largely inside in a controlled temperature environment. Occasional outside work in extreme temperatures may be required when it comes to transporting merchandise and inventory to different stores
Requirements

Required Education and Experience
- Supervisory Experience Preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent

Salary : $30,400 - $38,500
