Private Piano Teacher

ThePurplePiano provides private piano lessons to students in their homes. We value creating positive and fun musical experiences for our students. Our teaching philosophy leans towards a holistic music education, which includes theory, technique, and musicality. Instructors are encouraged to use creative activities and games during lessons, and to meet the needs of each individual student.

We are looking to hire an after school piano instructor to teach private piano lessons in the Louisville/Lafayette/Erie/Boulder/Longmont/Broomfield/Westminster CO areas. (Candidates are not required to travel to all of these towns). We specifically need someone in Erie and Broomfield starting the first week of June. Please do not apply if you do not live in one of the aforementioned towns.

Responsibilities/Qualifications:

-The contractor should be available to teach lessons during weekday after school hours.

-The contractor must have a dependable vehicle to travel to students homes.

-The contractor should have relevant education and/or experience with piano, as well as working with children and their families. The majority of students are between the ages of 5-12. There are some teenaged/adult students, as well.

-The contractor must operate as an LLC and complete a background check. (ThePurplePiano can guide you through setting up a LLC, it is rather simple in Colorado.)

-The contractor should be communicative and reliable.

-The contractor will prepare their students for a minimum of 2 performances per year.

Benefits:

-The contractor will be paid in the range of $22-24 per 30-minute session, depending on experience.

-The contractor will receive 7 weeks paid time off per year and are paid in case of student cancelations.

-The contractor will have access to a digital library of teaching resources.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 20 per week
