Buyer

General Summary:

Serves as the frontline communicator with our vendors. Responsibilities include sourcing of materials, monitoring supplier performance, inventory levels, issuing purchase orders from the ERP system and other purchase requisitions systems, and negotiating material and freight costs.

Essential Functions:

· Coordinate high priority purchasing and receipt activities

· Primary buyer for raw, tooling and engineering requests (ERP and Google Forms)

· Learn outsourced Buying Activities.

· Assist with the preparation of paperwork on courier items, as well as developing SOP processes and improvement activities.

· Coordinate inventory requirements and process Pos to fulfill requirements.

· Collaborate with Supply Chain, Project Management and Operations daily.

· Assist in root cause investigations and offer suggestions for improvement.

· Coordinate staging and deliveries of equipment with facility management.

· Identify and resolve purchasing, shipping and receiving discrepancies.

· Other Duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications (Education/Certification):

· Must be able to obtain security clearance as it applies to ITAR and EAR regulations

· Experience in purchasing (Experience in manufacturing environment, is strongly desired).

· Strong organizational abilities, including the ability to continually prioritize work to meet changing work conditions and customer requirements

· Strong knowledge of ERP system, inventory flow, Inventory Control methods, and key driver of cycle count process.

· Must understand inventory management principles and practices (cycle count, Kanban)

· Maintains a professional attitude; works well within a team environment.

· Problem Solving/Critical Thinking Skills - capable of resolving complex problems.

· Understand and follow written procedures and policies.

· Flexibility and adaptability.

· Coordinate with management coverage needs for cross training activates
