Job Description

Discover Impactful Work :

EHS Specialist II who will be responsible for supporting the Environmental Health and Safety activities at customer site.

The EHS Specialist II role is a hands-on individual contributor who will support Customer EH&S program teams from various departments.

Key Responsibilities :

• Processing daily data maintenance of the CISPro Chemical Management Database, including the Potential Peroxide Forming Material tracking system and data entry auditing.
• Supporting the CisPro system upgrade and documentation.
• Support Chemical Management, Solvent Replenishment, and Life Safety Equipment Services.
• Assisting with laboratory compliance and safety inspections of laboratory spaces by documenting inspection findings / action items.
• Data entry and QA of the Safety / Compliance software platforms.
• Reconciliation of inspection reports for all life safety equipment (fire extinguishers, eyewash and safety shower station, chemical spill kits, first aid kits, AEDs, and oxygen cylinders).
• Conducting field quality spot checks’ of life safety equipment inspections.
• Coordinating and scheduling Safety trainings.
• Involvement in the Chemical Hygiene Safety Program.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or related scientific field such as Biology, Chemistry, or Engineering and / or five plus years of related work experience preferred.
• Professional certification preferred but not required.

• Working knowledge of regulations pertaining to EH&S and related compliance requirements with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to proactively anticipate and resolve regulatory questions, to meet expected timelines for regulatory requirements.
• Ability to lead and facilitate projects to conclusion, adapt to changes in the work environment, and demonstrate flexibility.
• Ability to multi-task, keeping company objectives in mind and demonstrating an appropriate sense of urgency regarding high-risk compliance issues, and manage risk proactively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

• Works primarily at customer sites, which may require independent work. Work areas may include spaces where chemical-based allergens are in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc.).
• Personal protective equipment may be worn, including lab coats, coveralls, hoods, facemasks, hairnets, safety gloves, steel-toe shoes (required for all colleagues), bump hats, and / or safety glasses.
• Regularly required to lift 30 - 40 lbs, and up to 50 lbs occasionally.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $72,000.00 $100,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and / or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
