Location/Division Specific Information:
The Demand Planning Manager is part of the Laboratory Chemical Division (LCD). It reports directly to the Sr Manager of Supply Chain for Life Sciences and Laboratory Products Group. This is a remote position and being based on the East Coast is preferred.
How will you make an impact?
The Demand Planning Manager will lead the demand planning process strategy and own the global demand SIOP process. She/he will be responsible to build demand planning capabilities, standardize and facilitate monthly SIOP Demand Review meetings and ensure alignment amongst all partners including but not limited to sales, finance, product management and demand & supply planning organization. This role is responsible for Demand Planning and Demand SIOP process improvements, analytics, and reporting, interacting with all the involved functions to ensure customer satisfaction and effective business and end-to-end supply chain planning and execution.
What will you do?
SIOP Demand Plan
- Integrate backlog, statistical forecasting, portfolio management, NPI and other product demand signals to create a demand forecast.
- Collaborate with business, and commercial teams to develop an 18-month consensus demand plan through the monthly SIOP cycle.
- Work with cross-functional partners on projects such as new product launches, obsolescence, transitions to evaluate demand planning assumptions.
- Develop conclusions and make recommendations about forecast opportunities and risks to maximize business performance.
- Ensure adherence to Demand planning and Demand SIOP process standards.
Forecast Metrics
- Develop and maintain monthly forecast accuracy and forecast bias metrics.
- Drive improvements to forecast accuracy and alignment by proposing and implementing solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy.
Process Improvement
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to advance the demand management, demand planning and SIOP process capabilities
- Maintains, enhances, or recommends improvements to technology to manage the demand forecasting process.
How will you get here?
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field is required.
Experience:
- 3 years’ experience in Demand Planning.
- Experience in leading projects throughout a wide function/ region and in driving continuous improvements with a disciplined approach.
- Expertise leading a cross-functional SIOP process preferred.
- Relevant experience in the Life Science or Medical Device industry preferred.
- APICS certification preferred.
- Six Sigma Green / Black Belt Certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Domain expertise in demand management and planning.
- Strong supply chain knowledge with proven experience building, standing up, scaling, and maturing a demand planning processes within a global/matrixed organization.
- Demonstrated change management experience and ability to lead through change and rapid growth.
- Strategic problem solver and planner.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office and preferably Power BI.
- Influential leader with the ability to work across a large and culturally diverse organization.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Familiarity with ERP environments (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Demand planning Software experience and/or implementation (Demantra, Kinaxis, SAP, or similar).
- Strong analytic skills.
