Location/Division Specific Information
This position is within the Protein and Cell Analysis Business Unit within the Biosciences Division. The ideal candidate would be located in Rockford, IL.
How will you make an impact?
You will build and implement a strategy for the western blotting imaging portfolio. You will develop product marketing plans and product positioning, conduct customer and market research, monitor competitive activity, identify customer needs, and develop pricing strategies. You will interface with other internal units to develop new products or improve existing product(s) or product line(s). You will develop short- and long-term strategies for product expansion.
What will you do?
- Ensure the voice of customer is represented in product development and product strategy
- Develop strategic and tactical plans to assure success of the target products including identifying strategic opportunities and threats
- Drive a cross-functional process to conceptualize and implement new products
- Lead all marketing aspects of product development projects, as part of a cross functional team, including market requirements, pricing strategies, financial analysis and sales forecasts, product literature and user information
- Define and implement product launch plans to include promotional plans, manufacturing forecasts, sales training plans, and support plans
- Formulate and continuously update value propositions for each market segment, with resultant positioning statements and major messages
- Work with the sales organization to create and attain performance goals for target products
- Provide product training and marketing support to sales, applications and technical support personnel
- Drive processes for identifying and rectifying product problems
How will you get here?
Education
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a scientific field.
- Master’s or PhD, preferred
Experience
- Minimum of five years industrial experience
- Product sales and marketing experience preferred
- Experience in developing and implementing successful marketing strategies preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proven ability to take ownership of responsibilities, overcome obstacles, and deliver on commitments
- Ability to analyze and dissect information, market research, and customer data and use it to make sound recommendations.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and lead multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong technical writing and communications skills
