Location/Division Specific Information
Unity(tm) Lab Services is a business segment that supports the Customer Channels Group, which provides critical outsourced on-site services at customer locations.
This position is in Seattle, WA in the South Lake Union area.
Requires proof of Covid-19 vaccination.
How will you make an impact?
This position is focused on service delivery excellence at a client site located in the South Lake Union area of Seattle. Specific activities relative to the job function could include a portfolio of services provided including stockroom services, material handling, order entry, order management, operating customer receiving/procurement systems, shipping/receiving.
What will you do?
- Stockroom management, dispensing of product, and follow direction / coordination of affiliated client stockroom activities
- Perform on-site inventory replenishment and disbursements.
- Perform stockroom duties to include receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, and other functions according to customer requirements.
- Promote a safe work environment through various safety initiatives within functional area
- Participate in individual or group projects that can include, cost savings analysis, learning groups, writing work instructions and job training methods.
- Serve as a point of contact for matters or concerns with provided services
- Report internal/external metrics to Site Supervisor/Sr. Manager
- Maintain safety awareness, maintain and author work instructions, assist with Job Hazard Assessments, and perform PPE assessments
- Provide technical expertise and training to colleagues
- Follow well defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOP’s & work instructions. Take direction from site Supervisor/Manager regarding daily duties.
- Independently makes decisions and utilizes available resources to meet customer requirements
- Demonstrates proficiency at capturing, presenting and explaining job or site specific performance metrics
- Communicate any customer issues or potential problems
- Promote personal growth and development by staying abreast of new policies and enhancements without the presence of site trainer and management team
- Listen to customer concerns, effectively diffuses dissatisfaction, and quickly identifies course of action with a goal of first call resolution within established turnaround times
- Works effectively with a diverse cross-functional team
- Embrace Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies
- Access & utilize Thermo Fisher Scientifics’ Intranet and SharePoint document management system.
- Positively represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations.
- Attend required training sessions.
- Participate in projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Must possess a High School Diploma at a minimum, preferably an Associate’s degree or higher
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated verbal, written and presentation skills
- 2-3 years of progressive relevant experience preferred
- Display a high level of confidentiality for both customer and company
- Must maintain Thermo Fisher Scientifics’ Four-I Values
- Experience in laboratory setting or services preferred
- Proven excellence in customer service skills
