How will you make an impact?
The Global Product Manager for Flow Cytometry Instruments is responsible for launching New Product Introductions for Flow Cytometry. They will work with research and development, operations and business counterparts to develop and execute Multi-Generational Product (MGPP) Strategy for new platform and manage Flow Cytometry product lines. They will also be responsible for developing, organizing, and executing training for New Product Introductions for the flow instrument business.
What will you do?
- Work within a matrix environment to develop and execute global strategic business plans to execute the MGPP of a flow cytometer to take market share and move into new geographies, customer segments, and markets for flow cytometry.
- Analyze market data and trends to develop and execute business plan and customer requirements for multigenerational products.
- Execute, Synthesize, and Communicate Voice of Customer Studies
- Perform pricing analysis studies and develop discontinuation strategies for existing products when necessary
- Work with marketing and regional partners on development and execution of marketing plans and commercial marketing launches.
- Prioritize time and resources, with an ability to see a task through to completion, despite other project demands.
- Plan, organize, create, and deliver technical presentations and exercises for flow cytometry instrument new product introductions, applications and software for commercial and support organizations.
- Participate as a primary contributor/owner on instrument core teams.
- Coordinate and manage communication of software release information to field teams and customers.
- Assist with customer demonstration, tradeshows, customer visits, and flow cytometry courses as needed.
How will you get here?
Education
- Master’s degree in Life Science, Marketing, or Business with at least 5 years’ experience in flow cytometry, product marketing, and/or sales role is required.
- A degree in a scientific discipline or direct experience in the flow cytometry market is highly desired but not required.
- Ph.D., M.B.A. or extensive business experience is strongly preferred.
Experience
- At least 5 years in a product management role and/or commercial sales and support including experience developing strategy and successfully implementing marketing plans.
- Experience in marketing in a scientific environment is highly preferred.
- Exceptional communication skills as well as analytical, project management and planning skills necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- This role must demonstrate knowledge of the following key competencies: pricing, strategic mind-set, 4Ps and marketing mix, segmentation, value proposition development and multi-generational product planning.
- Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing and to utilize creative and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to change very quickly is important, due to the dynamic nature of the industry.
- A strong track record of building alignment in cross-functional teams to ensure development and execution of comprehensive business strategy.
- Self-motivation, enthusiasm, a positive attitude and perform as a team player.
- Ability to work on problems of routine to diverse scope and to influence without direct authority.
- Ability to identify problems, answer questions, gain cooperation of others and implement efficient solutions. Success will be measured by key performance indicators for specific projects and overall revenue, margin, and growth metrics.
