The Director of Marketing is a key leadership role responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to all marketing and communication activities within the organization. The incumbent will play a crucial role in advancing the organization's mission, enhancing its position among relevant constituents, and driving broader awareness, engagement, and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communication strategies aligned with the organization's mission, goals, and communication needs. This includes identifying target audiences, positioning strategies, and messaging frameworks.
  • Partnership Development: Seek out and cultivate strategic partnerships through distribution, licensing, collaborations, and other alignments to achieve strategic and business objectives.
  • Market Research: Conduct thorough market research with various constituencies and the public to better understand market dynamics, customer needs, and emerging trends.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing initiatives, utilizing data-driven insights to recommend and implement integrated multi-channel marketing and communication strategies with a customer-centric focus.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and strengthen relationships with stakeholders through effective communication and engagement strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Data Analysis: Collaborate with the Data Team to provide regular research and analysis supporting new product development, product selection, seasonal planning, and overall strategic direction of agency programs.
  • Execution Oversight: Determine marketing strategies, develop plans, and oversee the successful execution of marketing, promotions, publicity, advertising, sales, and trade shows.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field
  • Proven track record of at least 5 years of experience in marketing leadership roles, preferably in the nonprofit or social impact sector.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing effective marketing strategies that drive engagement and support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in market research techniques, data analysis tools, and marketing automation platforms.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and lead cross-functional teams towards common goals.
