Position Description: ThinkTek is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented, and committed individual to join our team to support Financial & Budget Planning analysis. The consultant will be creating invoices, tracking and monitor financial workflow processes, developing financial models and spend plans for an Inter-Agency Agreement (IAA), supporting interagency communications with regard to the IAAs, and other assisting with other financial analysis and reporting requests. We are looking for someone with exceptional communications and advanced MS Excel skills, as well as someone with demonstrated communications and customer services skills in the Federal workspace.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Understanding the Federal budgetary phases to support the complete IAA formulation to execution and billing process
- Monitor organizational spending to ensure that it is within the IAA
- Inform program managers of the status and availability of funds remaining under the IAA
- Estimate future financial needs for future IAAs
- Experience conducting cost-benefit analyses to review financial requests, assess program tradeoffs, and explore alternative funding methods
- Internal and External communication with clients related to invoices and billings
- Developing innovative ways to show financial trends
- Reviewing and recommending process improvements as it relates to invoice, billing and spend plan creation
- Provide analysis results via the development of Senior Leader briefings, talking points, etc.
- Experience working with the Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI), Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS), or other Federal financial systems and processes
Desired Qualifications and Certifications:
- 3 years of relevant experience with accounting, finance, budgeting, or business operations
- 2 years of experience in program and project management
- 2 years of experience working in a DoD or Federal environment
- Bachelor’s degree in public affairs, accounting, finance, economics, or business-related field
- Advanced MS Excel knowledge and expertise (read, create and troubleshoot complex formulas)
- General understanding of contract financials for a large-scale federal program or project and financial/budgetary principles
- Understanding of the Federal appropriations process and experience working with Senior level government personnel
- Must have an active DoD Top Secret Clearance
