Our partner, a reputable organization, is currently seeking a Chemical Project Engineer in West Memphis, AR. This exciting role involves the development and implementation of new and existing processes within the Operations department, with a specific focus on low carbon energy initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Developing new and existing processes from concept to the finished operating process within the Operations department.
- Creating PFD drawings and producing material and energy balances for new or existing Operations.
- Utilizing CAD programs to build or modify line drawings.
- Performing complex chemical engineering calculations.
- Collaborating with R&D, Operations, Sales, and other teams to understand scope and provide guidance and expertise for new and existing products.
- Leading projects by building teams, creating executable scopes, cost models (OPEX and CAPEX), acquiring equipment, writing procedures, conducting start-ups, and turning over finished processes to the Operations management team.
- Possessing strong communication skills, including writing EOD reports and delivering presentations.
- Providing training to develop others in process improvements.
- Being a team player, working with all levels of the organization.
- Performing other duties as defined by the Regional Manufacturing Director.
The job may involve exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. - A Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree.
- A minimum of 8 years of active process/project experience in a Manufacturing Environment, preferably in support or leadership roles in Specialty Chemicals.
- Desired experience in Lean methodologies, such as Six Sigma (Yellow, Green, Black Belt).
