What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at THK Manufacturing of America, Inc.?
This position is responsible for receiving shipments from external sources, shipping to TMADC, closing out Manufacturing Orders, storing materials to be warehoused in the appropriate locations (inventory, racks, areas, etc.), retrieving material to be put in production from inventory, and warehoused items inventory management, etc. This position is also responsible for maintaining inventory and inventory accuracy.
Shift: 7am-3pm Monday - Friday

- Material Handling & Storing/Retrieving—Transport received material from Receiving to the appropriate area. After the material has been transported, input the inventory movement into the system. At this point, reconfirm the record stock quantity with the actual stock quantity. Correct for any discrepancies in the system. Materials should always be easy to retrieve and store so that FIFO can be done.
- Pulling Material & Disbursements—Receive the MO from the Manufacturing Scheduler, pull the appropriate material from inventory (racks, areas), and indicate that they were pulled into the system. Confirm that the given materials are the same item as the MO and disburse into production.
- Inventory Results Confirmation—When inventory is taken, get the “Confirmation Sheets” from Accounting and in the event there is something wrong with the actual items and the confirmation sheets, inform that to Accounting.
- Troubleshooting—For the daily occurrence of various problems, consult with the superior and related personnel to resolve the problems.
- Training Assistance—When the Material Handler II requests for assistance in training new members, etc., earnestly carry out the training schedule received.
- Work Assistance—When instructions are given to assist another Material Handler in progress management within the department (work assignments) and making improvements to duties, readily support those functions.
- Work Area— Maintain a neat and orderly work area to insure efficiency and safety.
- Other – Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Forklift driver’s license. Incumbents must have the aptitude to acquire the basic skills required for this position within the 3-month orientation period; working knowledge of the metric system; good hand-eye coordination is essential. Must have the ability to follow detailed instructions. Must be able to lift 70 lbs (up to 100 with assistance) on a continuous basis. Computer skills helpful.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED; vocational school or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience:
Experience with transport, logistics, delivery, receiving & shipping related to material handling is preferred.
