Aiding the President as the institution’s chief development officer, the VP oversees all of the College’s fundraising efforts associated with capital campaigns, annual fund, planned giving, endowed scholarships, public and private foundation grants, special events and corporate philanthropic support and sponsorship opportunities. In addition to development, the VP is also responsible for oversight and management of the College’s Alumni Relations. The VP is the lead staff member of the Board’s Advancement Committee and Nomination and Governance Committee. The VP is responsible for creating, updating, and implementing a comprehensive and strategic development plan with implementation schedules and evaluation metrics.
The Vice President provides direct supervision to key members of his/her staff, and has ultimate responsibility for the planning, establishing, executing, and reporting of department goals and objectives; operational budgets, analysis and fiscal management associated with his/her department, and the performance evaluation of staff.
Additionally, the ideal candidate will have ten years combined experience with increasing responsibility in the non-profit or for-profit business sector; particular emphasis on general management, organizational development, and financial management experience. Demonstrated ability to manage a multi-function organization in fund raising, member engagement, alumni relations, and special events; effectively manage professional, managerial and support staff and to apply sound principles of human resource management; experience in managing funds, budgets, property and other assets with integrity and accountability. Graduate degree preferred, four-year college degree required; experience in higher education desirable. Extensive contact with the public; some travel, night, and weekend work. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products preferred, and experience with Raisers Edge or a similar product.
