SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The Planning Assistant will be responsible for planning and coordinating production schedules in order to ensure all company goals and customer demands are met. Planning Assistant will work closely with production supervisors, the quality department, purchasing and the ERP / Materials Manager to ensure materials are available, production is flowing as scheduled, and customer demans are met. The planning assistant will also be responsible for communicating areas of opportunity and delivery delays to appropriate personnel.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Direct responsibility for creating and maintaining production schedules for New York facility,
· Assist supersvisors with identifying bottlenecks and other production issues,
· Review incoming customer orders to ensure quoted timelines are feasible,
· Provide scheduling reports to production supervisors and members of management outlining demands, lates, and related issues,
· Ensure on-time delivery to our customers,
· Communicate with the customer service department, and occassional external customers in a professional, clear, and concise manner,
· Attend daily production meetings, weekly planning meetings, and other meetings are necessary,
· Assist purchasing & ERP / Materials Manager working with suppliers when necessary.
COMPETENCIES:

· Able to work as an effective team player while being an individual contributor,
· Strong computer skills,
· Strong writing and verbal communication skills,
· Experience working with ERP systems, Syteline highly desireable.
RECOMMENDED EDUCATION / SKILLS:
· Associate degree in business management, with a logistics background preferred,
· Two (2) to five (5) years excperience in prduction control and scheduling in a manufacturing environment,
· MRP experience, experience with Sytleine highly desireable.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The position will work in both an office and manufacturing environment. Work environment may be in a climate controlled facility and may be exposed to a variety of weather elements.
