Job Purpose/Job Summary:


Manages various marketing and communications functions including public relations and marketing Monticello tours, programs and events to promote tourism. Produces marketing collateral. Has primary responsibility for cultivating productive relationships with the media. Serves as editor of Monticello print and e-newsletters and annual events calendar circular.


Essential Functions:

  1. Supports Foundation net revenue goals and constituent engagement goals for tourism, retail sales, special events, and educational programs through various multi-channel marketing strategies.
  2. Supports all media outreach (drafts press releases, creates media kits, maintains online press room) and cultivates relationships with media. Ensures compliance with Monticello on-site filming policies. Prepares management reports on earned media.
  3. Develops and organizes marketing and communication plans that encompass earned media, social media and online marketing, print collateral and traditional advertising.
  4. Develops written materials, photography, and video that support key messages and brand positioning.
  5. Keeps abreast of the latest developments in new marketing and communications technology.
  6. Coordinates external print and electronic communications produced by Monticello departments. Works with content marketing specialist to develop compelling email and social media campaigns.
  7. Collaborates with Monticello managers in furthering strategic partnerships and sponsor relationships.
  8. Supervises Marketing Specialist and Digital Services Coordinator.
  9. Other duties as assigned.
