The Safety Manager develops, monitors and implements Jefferson#39;s health and safety policies; ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies; and is responsible for the reduction and prevention of safety hazards and accidents. This role ensures the health and safety of all Jefferson staff and personnel as well as patients, students and visitors.
Responsibilities
Required knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of chemical toxicity, principles of chemical storage, use and disposal. Knowledge of the selection and use of Personal Protective Equipment. Knowledge of Life Safety, Environment of Care, Emergency Preparedness, IRCA amp; PICRA requirements.
Required Experience, Education, Certifications, Licenses
Minimum of five yearsrsquo; experience in a healthcare institution, university, public or private organization specializing in safety. OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER (within 90 days of hire). Bachelor of Science in environmental safety/protection, occupational safety, related discipline; work experience in healthcare safety may be substituted for the education requirement.
Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jeffersonrsquo;s clinical entities or at the University.
