Job Title: Lower School Academic Intervention Specialist

Pay range: $17.00-$19.00/hour
Benefits: For employees contracted for 30 hours per week or more, Thomas MacLaren School pays for 100% of the employee’s base insurance premiums (Health, Dental, Vision, Long-term and Short-term disability, Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance, and Life insurance) for the base level coverages. No benefits are provided to employees contracted for less than 30 hours per week.
General Purpose:
To assist MTSS team in supporting student growth and achievement through curricularly-aligned and evidence-based academic interventions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under direction of Literacy Coordinator, Academic Coordinator, or other coach, provide targeted intervention in reading and math for students in Tier II and Tier III of the MTSS process
Assess and progress monitor students (using Acadience/DIBELS and other assessments as needed)
Keep good records
Assist the lead in ensuring READ plans and MTSS plans are implemented
Any other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:
Education: High School degree; Associates Degree from an accredited college or university preferred
Other knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Skill with (or aptitude indicating ability to learn) evidence-based structured literacy interventions
Preferred experience with DIBELS
Exceptionally patient
Emotional intelligence
Exhibits kindness toward students
Clear and regular communication with colleagues
Love of educating children
Creativity, problem-solving skills, and strategic thinking
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with both young people and adults.
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment.
