  • JOB SUMMARY
      The Surgical Services Unit Clerk assumes clerical duties necessary to assist the health care team as they provide patient care and physician assistance. The Unit Clerk reports directly to the Surgical Services Nurse Manager. He/she is responsible for posting surgical cases and performing general clerical duties in Surgical Services.

    • Must have knowledge and functional operation of computer and copy machine.
  • JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
    • Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
    • Must be able to communicate with all hospital contacts both on the telephone and directly.
    • Must be able to work and communicate effectively with a variety of different people, taking into consideration different lifestyles and backgrounds.
    • Must have legible handwriting.
    • Self-starter and ability/availability to work in a high stress area and in emergency situations.
    • Must have the ability to solve practical problems.
    • Must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in verbal, written, diagram or scheduled form.
