Veterinary Assistant

Our AAHA veterinary practice is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant.

Must be available to work 4 weekdays and some weekends, usually 1 per month. Must be available every Monday and Friday 8am to 6pm.

Assistants at Thompson Animal Medical Center are an integral part of our healthcare team. The culture of the practice places an emphasis on continuing education and growth. It is both a fast paced, fun place to work.

A qualified applicant must be quick to learn. Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic is preferred, but not required. It would be ideal for an applicant to be proficient in: blood draws, laboratory procedures, taking medical histories, radiology, and restraint. However, we are willing to train you these skills, if you are willing to learn.

The ideal candidate possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, is organized, is self motivated, has the ability to prioritize, has an ability to work in a stressful environment, and has the ability to work well in a team.

Pay: $16.50 - $17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week

Experience:

• Veterinary experience: 1 year (Preferred)
