Position Overview

Field Management position that provides on-site coordination and assists in leadership for all phases of the construction project. Assisting and managing field engineers and hourly trade employees. The position may also be required to assist in the development and implementation of corporate policies and any other responsibilities delegated by leadership.

• Multifamily construction experience as the lead Superintendent is REQUIRED. Please do not apply if you do not have this experience.

Responsibilities

• Confer with Project Manager, Owners and Contractors to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints and construction problems. Daily communication is expected.
• Assist with planning, organizing, and directing all on-site activities concerned with the construction.
• Help lead subcontractors who are under contract to complete specific scopes of work on the project.
• Facilitate investigating damage, accidents or delays on construction sites to ensure that proper procedures are being met.
• Verify material deliveries and comply with procurement requirements.
• Have weekly contact with each subcontractor’s foreman and review and agree to work activities required to be completed during following week and manpower to be provided.
• Assist with ensuring job site remains clean and free of construction debris to ensure safe and efficient work environment
• Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being installed.
• Understand cost accounting and keep field team aware of project cost projections.
• Responsible for project completion and punch process.
• Provide necessary training and direction to assist staff to achieve position advancement.

Requirements

• Superintendent multifamily construction experience is REQUIRED for projects involving multiple buildings.
• Position prefers a four-year college degree in a construction related field and/or 2-3 years of project experience to demonstrate mastery of position requirements.
• Multifamily construction experience is required.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to demonstrate strong competency in leadership, teamwork, communications, problem solving and initiative.
• Must exhibit professionalism and organizational expertise to blend subcontractors, and materials suppliers into an effective and efficient work force that results in a safe, on schedule and quality project.
• Must be an Organizational Leader who will stand behind the organization’s decisions and work toward their realization.
• Ability to travel is required.

Position will report to the lead Superintendent and also Vice President of Construction.

Salary $80,000-105,000 plus $36,600-50,500 subsistence plus bonuses

Performing this job will sometimes require the employee to walk work sites that do not have infrastructure, this includes walking on uneven surfaces, through mud, through ruts, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires the use of hands to finer, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear (bells, whistles, etc.), stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and the risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.

The hourly or salary range is the range Thompson Thrift in good faith believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. The Company may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified in the future. No amount is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable under the terms and conditions of the applicable policies and plans.
