What are the responsibilities and job description for the Systems Analyst (CCS/NPES TDPs & Testing) position at THOR Solutions, LLC?
THOR Solutions is actively seeking an experienced Systems Analyst to support a submarine modernization and modification program at Naval Submarine Base Kitsap in Bangor, WA. An ideal candidate will have subject matter expertise with U.S. Navy submarine Command and Control System (CCS)/ Non-Propulsion Electronic Systems (NPES) equipment or systems, and familiarity with Technical Data Package (TDP) implementation and testing.
The candidate’s responsibilities may include (but are not limited to) performing or supporting the following actions:
- Support the submarine modernization and modification program.
- Review alteration draft Technical Data Packages (TDP) to identify installation platforms’ features that might affect installations of Command and Control System (CCS)/ Non-Propulsion Electronic Systems (NPES) equipment or systems. Provide installation recommendations. Identify and report any installation support requirements or local maintenance facility support installation impacts.
- Perform CCS/NPES hardware and software configuration audits using furnished audit materials. Use audit results to identify discrepancies from the Navy standard configuration databases. Generate detailed reports documenting CCS/NPES audit discrepancies
- Conduct CCS/NPES Pre and Post-Installation Check-Out (PICO), System Operational Verification Tests (SOVT), and Non-Propulsion Electronic System Operability Verification Evaluation (NOVE) testing in accordance with TDP and established test procedures. Testing may occur dockside or at-sea. Generate SOVTR/PICO test reports.
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Must already possess an active or interim SECRET security clearance, and maintain it for the duration of employment.
Required Education, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- High school diploma/GED, relevant military technical school diploma/certificate, or relevant degree.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline is strongly preferred.
- At least seven (7) years, and preferably at least ten (10) years, of recent, relevant technical or operational experience with U.S. Navy submarine CCS/NPES equipment or systems. Experience should include:
- Reviewing submarine TEMPALTs, SHIPALTs, TRIDs, and OCMODs;
- Reviewing Engineering Changes;
- Reviewing Top Level Functional Requirements;
- Reviewing System Specifications; and
- Reviewing Ship System Manuals and associated subsystem technical manuals.
- Proficiency with common productivity software including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and comfortable interacting with active-duty military, civilian, and industry personnel.
Travel Requirements:
- This position is anticipated to require up to 15% travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations including WA, GA, VA, HI, CT, and CA.
Typical Physical Activity:
- Essential functions typically include (but are not limited to): typing, talking, and vision.
