Role and Responsibilities

Manage and lead various crew sizes depending on the project needs; typically, 12 to 40 employees.

Determine and communicate any performance issues with the Service Operations Manager.

Establish and set performance goals and deadlines.

Develop and maintain a team relationship with the client utilizing positive communication.

Organize and manage site construction activities to meet or exceed project completion schedules or MSA directives.

Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, etc. to determine project needs.

Oversee and participate in daily pre-shift safety meetings alongside Safety Tech.

Participate in Safety and Environmental initiatives that will contribute to compliance of State/Federal regulations and improve existing Company programs.

Responsible and accountable for employee’s own personal safety, as well as the safety of all co-workers and any others the employee meets.

Authorized and obligated to stop work on any task or series of tasks whenever an unsafe condition or situation is anticipated or is observed. Brings problems to the attention of the Service Operations Manager.

This position can frequently require long hours and weekend work; travel may be required; some out-of-town and overnight travel may be expected.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of Supervisory experience in a construction environment.

API-936 Certification is preferred.
-
Bilingual is a plus.

In depth understanding of practices and materials involved in refractory and be capable of demonstrating proficiency to perform the job.

Knowledge of refractory and/or brick preferred.

Ability to read and interpret prints associated with industry refractory installations.

Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors, including the ability to speak and understand English.

Possess a strong initiative, enjoy being a team player, ability to juggle competing priorities, and self-manage to meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements

Walking, stepping, climbing, or otherwise moving from one location on the job site to another, which may be of varying heights and access parameters.

Standing or sitting for long periods of time.

Regularly required to sit, talk, or hear, sitting for long periods of time.

Repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands and back in performance of work.

Working in confined work areas and/or elevated heights.

Lifting objects of minimum of 10lbs, with maximum single-person lift limit of 50lbs.

Adapting to temperature changes, outdoor conditions, and prolonged exposure to dusty, wet or humid conditions, loud noises, and vibration.
