Job Title: FinOps Architect
Location: Remote
Duration:12 Months Contract/contract to hire and Contract Length
Must Haves:
10 years of relevant experience
Self-starter, independent worker and able to work with others to provoke change and innovation
FinOps Certified
Azure/Cloud knowledge as it pertains to Finance
Day to Day Responsibilities/project specifics:
The FinOps lead is responsible for driving improvements of Cloud Financial Management including FinOps strategy, tagging, tooling, visibility and standardization.
The cloud foundation platform is the set of foundational services and building blocks provided to our internal cloud consumers as an add-on to Azure and Oracle cloud.
Public cloud is a mission-critical platform and is backed by a clear cloud first strategy.
With the significant increase in the consumption of cloud resources it is crucial to get the cloud cost in control.
Responsible for:
Drive adoption to mature the FinOps capability framework throughout the organization
Chair the FinOps governance body
Drive improved financial visibility and standardization
Own the chargeback methodology
Support the design of FinOps dashboards and tooling
Work closely with the regional FinOps lead on standardization and implementation
Report out to the senior leadership on the status of FinOps and potential saving opportunities
Be responsible for integration of FinOps processes, data, and dashboards with the wider tooling landscape
Act as the Lead for FinOps tools e.g.:
Market-scan to compare 3rd party tools with inhouse dashboards
Business case for inhouse developed dashboards versus 3rd party tooling
Work with Finance department in improve the charge back processes
Work with the SMCF & Training lead to setup education path (incl. material) for all regions and multiple levels/teams, aiming to:
Educate DevOps teams on how to use/understand showback dashboards (and their influence on financials)
Educate senior management on how to utilize high level dashboards
Educate Global ITLT on dashboard definitions and training/education paths
