Job Summary:
The Medical Technologist works as a generalist in the hospital lab setting.
Responsibilities:
- Works as a generalist in the hospital lab setting and assists as needed in all lab areas as required to maintain appropriate patient care
- Ability to operate all general laboratory instrumentation
- Performs routine and specialized moderate and high complexity laboratory tests on all types of blood and body fluid specimens under minimal supervision
- Performs instrument function checks and preventative maintenance procedures according to department policies and procedures
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's of Science in Medical Technology required
- Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology
- 2 years of experience preferred
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
- Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with patient, guest, physicians, and other employees
