We are looking for a friendly, reliable and punctual person with a strong attention to detail, excellent communications skills, retail experience and some knowledge in artisanal and nutritionally dense foods and products, to work at our Berkeley Farmer Market Booth.

Primary responsibilities include assisting customers with product selection and purchases, end of day transaction reconciliation, maintaining booth appearance, assisting with packing/unpacking and loading/unloading products, booth set up and product display.

Key Responsibilities

• Handling cash and credit card POS (point of sale) transactions

• Applying glass credits to live transactions

• Being able to communicate effectively with customers about Three Stone Hearth's philosophy of traditional foods

• Familiarity with housemade products

• Assisting customers with product questions and purchases

• Stocking and displaying products

• Keeping the booth tidy and attractive

• Interfacing with Online Store Inventory role holder for approved inventory

• Spreadsheet entries for accurate product inventory tracking

• Reconciling daily transactions

• Assisting with loading, transport and booth set up and break down

• Working closely with the market support person for a smooth and timely shift

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time (8 plus hours)

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds to shoulder height

Job Specific Requirements

• Must have a current CA driver’s license and clean driving record, must be comfortable driving our company van.

Schedule

Current shift(s) to fill: Note shifts are longer than actual market booth hours to allow for pre and post market tasks. Shifts: Tuesdays 12 - 8:30 pm Saturdays 8:00am - 4:30 pm. Farmer Market Booth hours: Tuesday 2 - 6:30pm; Saturday 10 - 3pm.

Position could be combined with other roles in the company for more hours.

Compensation

Kitchen Helper/"Jar Czar"

We are looking for a Jar Czar/Kitchen Worker for various kitchen tasks with an emphasis on helping us keep products moving along the production/fulfillment continuum with jarring, cooling, drying, labeling and shelving efforts. Currently shifts are on Tuesday afternoon (approximately 1-6pm), Wednesday 9:30 - 6pm, Thursday and Friday 8 - 4:30pm. We are open to considering splitting the four shifts betweeen two applicants.

Required Education, Experience and Skills

• This is an entry level position - no kitchen experience required.

• Food Handlers or Safe Serve Certification, upon hire.

Three Stone Hearth is seeking a 29 - 30 hours per week Jar Czar/Kitchen Assistant Tuesday afternoon (1-6pm), Wednesday 9:30 - 6pm, Thursday and Friday 8 - 4:30pm.
